Cancellation Policy and Deposits

Trip Insurance

Airline travel has been very unreliable lately and many customers have experienced delays that can cost an entire day of your booked trip. Please make sure to talk to Jamie in regards to flight schedule as we would rather have someone pick you up at the airport a day early for free and help arrange reduced rate lodging than forfeit part of your trip.

Upon consulting with us that you would like to book a trip for a certain species and time frame, you will need to read and complete the information on our Documents Page. If you are not familiar with the type of trip that you booked, do some research. YouTube, is a great source to see what to expect for your gear needs and situations you may encounter. There will be some links to videos we recommend here on our site titled "Learning Links". We will hold the spot in "Good Faith" for 7 days for you to complete and return the pre-trip planner and deposit paperwork with all necessary documents and 50% deposit.

A minimum nonrefundable deposit (50% of trip cost) and the pre-trip contract is required upon booking a trip. The remaining balance is due at the start of the trip. No trip will be considered booked until the OOGS receives the deposit and pre-trip contract. The deposit and or any payments are nonrefundable. Any money paid cannot be transferred from one person to another if equipment or medical requirements can not be met. If the customer submits a deposit before a license is purchased and does not obtain the license by start of the trip, the deposit will be transferred to the next season or until the customer is able to obtain a license. If the customer cancels a trip, the deposit will not be refunded, though, it can be applied towards any vacant date of equal or greater value and only if a license or tag is obtained. The balance due will be adjusted if there is a difference in trip fees. Additionally, a $50.00 rescheduling fee will be charged. This rescheduling can only be done one time. If the customer chooses to apply the deposit to one of these trips, the rescheduled trip date must be within one year of the original date. Although the main goal is for each customer to fill his or her tag or limit, it is not a guarantee. There are no refunds. The client acknowledges all risk involved in hunting and fishing trips.

If a customer has not met the pre-determined, self-set sense of completion that we have discussed prior to the trip and the trip is scheduled to end he or she has the option of paying at a daily rate for additional days. The fee must be paid in full before starting the additional days. A customer that bags the wrong species type for his or her tag or license is solely responsible for the legal ramifications of said violation. Customers must also understand that guides other than the OOGS owner may guide them. It is not possible for the owner (Jamie Arnold) to personally guide all customers.

Special note to consider and late arrivals.

Like all pursuits of true wild game on public and private lands, we cannot guarantee success. However, in order to increase your opportunity of success, please practice your casting skills, marksmanship, get your gear systems figured out and test your gear and how to assemble or put it on before arriving so that when it is time to go or perform you will be able to.

The Guide cannot control when, where, or if the game will be found because wild game animals can be unpredictable. Sometimes animals may be found in swift water or undesirable areas. Customers must note that we have no control over weather or any unexpected events that may slow a trip. There are no refunds for unused days, such as: late arrivals, tagging early, departing early, bad weather, unexpected events, Acts of God or any event that may slow or stop a trip.

If the customer is more than 1 hour (60 minutes) late to the "in gear" or "feet in the boat time" described in the documents section, and this late arrival or failure to get out of bed has taken place without satisfactory communication with your guide, the guide reserves the right to turn a full day trip into a half day trip or cancel a half day trip. If a guide becomes injured or ill or leaves due to an emergency the customer might be paired with another customer and their Guide. OOGS will do best to replace the absent Guide as soon as possible, but it may not be possible.
